Caramelized Baked Chicken Legs or Wings
Ingredients:
3 pounds chicken (legs or wings)
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ cup brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
Marinate the Chicken: Place the chicken legs or wings in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Bake the Chicken: Arrange the marinated chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Reserve the remaining marinade for later use. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is crispy.
Prepare the Glaze: While the chicken is baking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until the mixture thickens into a glaze, about 5-7 minutes.
Glaze the Chicken: After the initial baking time, remove the chicken from the oven and brush it generously with the prepared glaze. Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize.
Garnish and Serve: Remove the chicken from the oven and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
