Rustic Pear Pie
Ingredients :
- 4 pears, peeled, prickled and cut
- 1 puff pastry or broken, ready to use
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten (for gold)
- Icing sugar to sprinkle (optional)
Instructions :
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. Roll puff pastry or broken dough on a pastry plate covered with sulfurized paper.
3. In a bowl, mix the pear slices with sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg.
4. Arrange the pear slices in the center of the dough, leaving a 5 cm (2 inch) border all around.
5. Fold the edges of the dough onto the pears, pinching slightly to hold the dough in place.
6. Spread the butter chunks on the pears.
7. Knead the edges of the dough with the beaten egg to get a nice golden brownie.
8. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until batter is golden brown and pears are tender.
9. Allow to cool slightly before sprinkling with icing sugar, if desired.
