Ingredients

1/2 cup brown sugar 

1/4 cup butter 

1/4 cup heavy cream 

1 tsp vanilla extract

Step-by-Step Instructions
Make the sponge cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together, then fold gently into the egg mixture.
Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the batter and mix until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cake is lightly golden and springs back when touched.
Immediately turn the cake onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Peel off the parchment paper and roll the cake in the towel, letting it cool completely.
Make the caramel sauce:
In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
Stir in heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
