2 steaks (sirloin, ribeye, or your favorite cut) 
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder 
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Mushroom Gravy:
1 tbsp butter 
1 cup mushrooms, sliced 
1/2 cup beef broth 
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp thyme 
For the Mashed Potatoes:
4 large potatoes, peeled and diced 
1/4 cup milk 
2 tbsp butter 
Salt & pepper to taste
Steps to Make It:

Boil diced potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15 minutes).
Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until creamy. Set aside.

Season both sides of the steak with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear each side of the steak for 3-4 minutes (or to your desired doneness).
Remove and let rest while you prepare the gravy.

In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until tender. 
Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and heavy cream.
Simmer until the gravy thickens, stirring occasionally.

Generously pour the mushroom gravy over the steak and potatoes.
