Peanut Butter Cake with Dulce de Leche
Ingredients
For the cake:
2 cups of wheat flour
1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of butter (at room temperature)
3 eggs
1 cup of milk
1 cup of roasted and ground peanuts
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional)
For the filling and topping:
1 can of dulce de leche (about 400g)
Preparation
Cake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease and flour a round pan.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the vanilla essence, if using.
Add the milk and wheat flour alternately, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix until incorporated.
Add the ground peanuts and baking powder, mixing gently.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes.
Allow the cake to cool completely before removing from the pan.

Assembly:
Cut the cake in half to fill it. Spread half of the dulce de leche over one of the layers and place the other half of the cake on top.
Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining dulce de leche.
