Ingredients:

For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup hot water
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Cream Filling:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow fluff
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Ganache:
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions:

Step 1: Make the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
Add the melted butter, hot water, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Cream Filling

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the marshmallow fluff and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Assemble the Cake

Place one cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand. Spread the cream filling evenly over the top.
Add the second cake layer on top of the filling. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.

Step 4: Make the Chocolate Ganache

In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the heavy whipping cream until hot but not boiling (about 1-2 minutes).
Pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Stir until the ganache is smooth and glossy.

Step 5: Frost the Cake

Pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides for a beautiful finish.
Smooth the ganache with a spatula if desired. Let the ganache set for about 15 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Slice and serve as a decadent dessert.
Pair with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
